Nutrient uptake, use efficiency and productivity of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) as affected by nitrogen and potassium fertilizer in Keddida Gamela Woreda, Southern Ethiopia

Abstract Bread wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most important cereal crops in Ethiopia. The productivity markedly constrained by nutrient depletion and inadequate fertilizer application. experiment was conducted to study effect nitrogen (N) potassium (K) rates on growth, yield, uptake use efficiency during 2019 cropping season Kedida Gamela Woreda , Kembata Tembaro Zone Southern Factorial combinations four N (0, 23, 46 69 kg Nha ?1 ) three K 2 O 30 60 form urea (46–0-0) murate potash (KCl) (0-0-60) respectively, were laid out a randomized complete block design with replications. results showed that parameters viz yield components, revealed significant differences P < 0.05) due interaction effects K. Fertilizer application at rate ha resulted high grain 4392 ? 1 lowest 1041 from control. highest agronomic (52.5) obtained . Maximum physiological (86.6 (58.6%) recorded Hence, it could be concluded applying economic return growing farmers area.
